Convex Sea Survey

The challenge was to produce an immersive website with aesthetic and emotional impact, to inspire our audiences about the power of the ocean as a nature-based solution to the climate crisis. We wanted to avoid passive interaction, and instead create an engaging journey that resonates deeply, taking science communication to the next level.

To achieve this, we leveraged cutting-edge technologies like WebGL to create dynamic, visually rich environments that support the story. This compelling aesthetic draws users in, creating a visual language that
reflects the story and brand identity. We use a unified design language—color schemes, typography, and UI elements—that aligns with the story’s tone and theme, along with effective sound design.

The Convex Seascape Survey website evokes curiosity, sustains engagement, and inspires action, making the website not just a destination but an experience that leaves a lasting impression. The narrative driven section of the website uses one linear scrolling path to tell the story of seascape carbon. A subtle, yet integral detail, we worked hard to achieve was connecting the whole journey entirely to the scroll speed, which is defined by the user. It’s a small detail, however, we believe it adds another layer of immersion to the experience.
