CATEGORIES

Which category should I enter?

The Webby Awards now has five entry types to choose from: Websites, Advertising & Media, Online Film & Video, Mobile Sites & Apps, and Social. We designed and added categories to allow participants to choose an entry category that best fits their media. It is up to the entrant to choose which is most appropriate for that particular entry. An entry can be entered to multiple categories as appropriate. If work is entered in multiple categories, it is eligible to win multiple times. The Academy reserves the right to move entries to other categories if it is clearly appropriate to do so. Please contact Denise Gilley via denise@webbyawards.com.

Can I enter more than one category?

Yes, you can enter your work into as many categories as you deem appropriate, and it will be evaluated separately for each instance and category it is entered. It is not uncommon for exceptional work to be honored in more than one category regardless of media type.

WINNING AN AWARD

How many entrants win Webby Awards?

For each category, the Academy will select five (5) Nominees which represent the five best in the category. Out of the Nominees, one (1) Winner will be selected and will win the coveted Webby Award in that specific category. Additionally, the online community, through a public vote, will also select one (1) Winner from the Nominees in each category. These sites receive a Webby People’s Voice Award. Additionally, entries that are not chosen as Winners or Nominees, but are notable in their achievement, may be recognized as an Official Honoree by the Academy. There may be multiple entries (or no entries) in each category designated an Honoree. We reserve the right to honor less than five nominees in any category should the quality of work not meet standards set by the judging criteria.

What do I get if I win a Webby Award or if my entry is chosen as a Nominee or Honoree?

To help promote achievement, The Webby Awards provides its winners with the notable Webby Statuette (additional statuettes can be purchased) and a badge for the winners’ Websites or publications. Nominees and Official Honorees receive a framed certificate and a badge for their Websites as well. All Winners, Nominees, and Honorees will be included on the Webby Winners page of the Webby site. Webby Winners, Nominees, and Honorees have an unparalleled opportunity to promote the recognized entry and the company or team that created it. There is tremendous recognition, prestige, and public relations opportunity associated with being selected by The Academy.

Can I buy additional Webby Awards statuettes or Nominee and Honoree framed certificates for members of my team, clients, and others if I win?

Yes. Additional awards, certificates, and merchandise can be purchased.  Please contact denise@webbyawards.com for more information.

Delivery/Shipping Policy: Each statuette is custom produced. We produce statuettes in the order that orders are received. Typically, statuettes will be shipped to you approximately eight weeks from the date that we receive your order. Once your order ships, you will receive email confirmation with tracking details for your order.

For merchandise, you may request a refund for your transaction prior to it being sent to the manufacturer for processing and fulfillment. Please send an email to denise@webbyawards.com to confirm eligibility of refund. Once confirmed, refunds will be processed within 5 business days of approval. We will notify you via email once your refund is processed.

If, after your order is received, there is an error and/or damage to your merchandise, please contact denise@webbyawards.com for further information and instructions.

Do you hold an event that we have to attend to receive our award?

Traditionally, Webby Winners are honored at a live event held in May. See some highlights from last year’s event or read about it here. The 19th Annual Webby Awards were held in May, 2015 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. The VIP invite-only awards celebration is a major media event, where attendees get to rub elbows with other winners and the industry’s foremost professionals, luminaries, and celebrities. Winners do NOT need to attend to receive their awards, although many do attend.
